CHALFONT ST PETER - PONY SESSION VOLUNTEERS
We are currently looking for volunteers to support our pony sessions on Sundays in Chalfont St. Peter. Our visitors pre-book to meet and groom the ponies and take them for a (supervised) walk.
Focus: Public engagement and pony interaction

Role includes:​​
-
Setting up for pony sessions
-
Catching the working ponies and leading to them to the pony paddock for the session
-
Grooming: Help visitors groom ponies and explain their stories.
-
Leading: Lead ponies and guests through trails.
-
Agility Assistants: Support pony agility sessions and clean up after them
​​
When: Usually Sunday afternoons 13:00 to 16:00 subject to change due to weather/GMT
​​​Requirements:
-
​Age: 14 years and over
-
All volunteers aged 16 and under will need to have their parent/guardians permission (signature on the form). We may ask that parent/guardian will also need to volunteer with their charge for the first few sessions so that all parties know what the voluntary work entails.

Be able to travel to/from the site

Focus:​ Pony care and site/ground maintenance​

Role includes:

filling water buckets
-
checking fence lines
-
changing batteries if necessary
-
moving hay and straw
-
mucking out
-
poo picking
-
observing the ponies & reporting any unusual signs to the Founder or Core Volunteers. ​
Requirements:
-
18 yrs and above
-
Own transport or ability to get to/from our site is essential.

Looking for volunteer handypeople to join us. We have a talented handyman with us already however, he only has one pair of hands and there is much to do! If you can help out regularly, have your own transport, don’t mind travelling between our sites and are capable of carrying out stable repairs, building shelters, fencing, digging, chopping, fixing please get in touch!

RADLETT - SALES SUPPORT​
​
Focus: Raising money by selling horsey items donated to us
​
Role Includes
-
Collecting donations in and around Hertfordshire and possibly Buckinghamshire
-
Sorting donations into various categories
-
Labelling items - size and price
-
Researching items and pricing
-
Manage listings, track sales, organise postage and liaise with buyers
-
Photographing items and advertising on sites such as marketplace, ebay and Gumtree
-
Helping to keep our storage (Hertfordshire) unit tidy and stocked
-
investigate setting up an online shop

​RADLETT/CHALFONT - EVENT SUPPORT/PONY HANDLERS​
During the Spring/Summer months we attend various country shows, school fetes and other events with the Miniature Shetlands and we need your help. Visitors donate a small sum to groom and lead the ponies.
​
Focus: Fundraising, public interaction and pony handling
​
Role Includes
-
possible transporting of event equipment to event site
-
assisting in setting up our gazebo and desk on site prior to show opening
-
assisting set of area for the ponies, filling water buckets and setting out grooming kits prior to show opening
-
taking responsibility for a pony and showing visitors how to groom and taking the ponies for a walk.
-
interacting with visitors
-
tidying up at the end of the event, cleaning out grooming kits, loading equipment back into cars and loading ponies
When: ​

Spring/Summer Saturday and Sundays - often full days
​​Requirements:
-
14 yrs plus
-
abilitiy to interact with members of the public
-
confidence in handling ponies (training will be provided)
-
No experience necessary, we will provide training
